 How This Book Came to Be!

 The idea of this book was conceived in a meeting with His Grace Bishop David, Bishop of New York & England, and the Papal Exarch of the Archdiocese of North America. The author has intended to write this text book containing a comprehensive compilation of content focusing on the new science on parenting, the exemplarily upbringing of the child and a long life of thriving. The text would include the transformational stages toward perfect maturity based on Christian praxes, research, decades of clinical practice. The intention is aiming to meet the needs of educators, especially Coptic American parents

Parents Be Aware of the “Big ideas”

Every parent, educator, and clergy ought to adopt the 21st century “Big ideas.” First, known researchers include psychologist and author Martin Seligman’s positive Psychology, that revolutionized the popular understanding of happiness and thriving. It has been proven how these feelings are not simply a part of our innate temperament, but rather are malleable, and can be taught. Secondly, Peter Salovey, an American social psychologist and current president of Yale University, is one of the early pioneers in emotional intelligence (EQ). He captured, with systematic study, our intuitive sense that some of us are more “people smart,” an attribute that has benefits for success beyond the previously researched contribution of higher IQ.

 The Spirit of Truth

Thirdly, it is about the time that every baptized Christian know what the world neither accepts, sees nor know him.  We have more than the just aforementioned “Big ideas.” We have the Holy Spirit – the Lord and Giver of Life as referred to in the Nicene Creed. Baptized Parents, children have indwelling Spirit that enkindle within us the grace we need in order to live the righteous and faithful life. Our parenting choices though, in the first two decades radically affect our children’s spiritual development in ways that last their entire life. (Available in Arabic)
